US vs EU daylight saving dates

Both sides of the Atlantic still spring forward and fall back, but they do not do it on the same weekend. A weekly call that was 15:00 in Paris / 09:00 in New York can sit an hour off for seven days twice a year.

Frequently asked questions

Is the UK on the EU calendar?
Yes, for civil DST: last Sunday in March and last Sunday in October, stored as Europe/London. That is not the same as the US second-Sunday-in-March rule.
Why does my Zoom still say the old gap?
The meeting object is probably storing two wall clocks instead of one instant. Recreate it with a single zone id, or check a city page for the week in question.
Does Hawaii follow the US DST law?
No. Hawaii stays on UTC−10:00. Several US territories and most of Arizona also skip DST. “US time” is not one clock.
