About NowZones

NowZones is a free world clock: current city times, time differences between places, and a converter for meeting times.

Who publishes this site

NowZones is published from Denmark by an independent operator. It is not affiliated with Google, timeanddate, or other world-clock products. Editorial copy, timezone tooling, and hosting are run by the same publisher. Canonical origin: https://nowzones.com.

Why it exists

Civil time is surprisingly easy to get wrong — half-hour offsets, daylight saving that does not line up across the Atlantic, and abbreviations like CST that mean three different zones. The site exists so you can see the live offset, the IANA identifier, and a worked example instead of guessing from a wall clock.

How times are calculated

We use the IANA Time Zone Database through well-tested libraries. Each city page includes structured facts (offset, DST, solar times from coordinates) — not an empty widget. Difference pages in the public index are a curated set; other combinations belong in the converter so the site does not become a doorway of near-duplicate URLs.

Advertising

Google AdSense is enabled only after approval and only with visitor consent. Advertising is off by default. We care about page quality and Core Web Vitals so the clock remains the answer, not a pretext for ads.

Where our data comes from

Time zone rules come from the IANA time zone database. City coordinates, populations and the places listed on each city page come from Wikidata, released into the public domain under CC0. Sunrise, sunset and solar noon are calculated from coordinates using the NOAA solar position algorithm rather than fetched from a third party.
